MEET THE TEAM
JADE CRAIG, ESQ.
Jade was born and raised in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He graduated with a B.A. from the University of Virginia, where he was a member of the liberal arts honors program. He graduated from the J.D. program at Columbia Law School in 2012 and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Columbia Journal of Race and Law and co-chair of the Civil Rights Law Society.
After law school, Jade served as a law clerk to Judge Damon J. Keith of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and for Judge Carlton Reeves in the Southern District of Mississippi in Jackson. In 2014, he was appointed by the Obama Administration to serve as Special Policy Advisor to the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. In that role, he managed relationships with civil rights groups and affordable housing stakeholders and coordinated the agency’s efforts on addressing housing in the context of international human rights.
Jade’s career in private practice has focused on commercial litigation, construction law and labor and employment law. He has represented businesses ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies in contract, partnership, and shareholder disputes; employment discrimination, whistleblower and retaliation cases; construction defect and professional negligence claims; and trademark infringement actions, among a host of other matters.
Jade is admitted to practice law in Florida, Mississippi and New York as well as in all of the federal district courts in Florida, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits.
Jade serves on the adjunct faculty at Florida State University College of Law, where he teaches a course on workplace safety and wellness in the Juris Master degree program.
He also serves on the adjunct faculty at Everglades University, where he has taught courses on construction law in the Master of Business Administration and undergraduate Construction Management degree programs.
Jade is also proficient in French.
